SUBCOURSE OVERVIEW
We designed this sub-course to teach you the basic skills of an Army carpenter and the building materials and tools you will use.
Contained within this sub-course is instruction on construction prints, building materials, hand tools, and power machinery.
There are no prerequisites for this sub-course.
This sub-course reflects the current doctrine when this sub-course was prepared.
In your own work, always refer to the latest official publications.
Unless otherwise stated, the masculine gender of singular pronouns is used to refer to both men and women.
TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
This course is designed to give soldiers practical knowledge of basic carpentry.
ACTION: You will learn to read, understand, and interpret construction prints (also called working drawings); to identify, use, and requisition building materials; and to care for and use hand tools and power machinery.
CONDITION: You will be given the material in this sub-course and an Army Correspondence Course Program (ACCP) examination response sheet.
STANDARD: To demonstrate competency of this task, you must achieve a minimum of 70 percent on this sub-course.
